Welcome!

The Work Experience Scheme provides opportunities for disabled individuals to participate in a wide range of work experience opportunities in companies across the United Kingdom.

The Scheme was founded by Vanessa Whitehouse and commenced with the Mary Hare School in July 2002. Vanessa herself has a severe to profound hearing loss and has experienced the difficulties of being deaf and working in a hearing environment. The Scheme is intended to provide real life work opportunities for disabled individuals, whilst allowing businesses to gain motivated and skilled workers for the length of the work experience as well as helping to raise awareness of disabilities internally.

It's a WIN-WIN situation for both employers and people with disabilities.
